The Cafe Don Juan Coffee Drink
One of our favorite specialty coffee drinks is the Cafe Don Juan.It's a unique blend of different recipes and flavors, but it's designed to stimulate all the taste buds in your mouth at one time. The recipe itself calls for a greater number of ingredients than most coffee drinks do, but it's so worth it.
Here's what you do:
1. You need three quarters of an ounce of dark rum, an ounce of Kahlua, lemon juice and 5 ounces of hot coffee.
2. Take your coffee cups and rim them with a bit of lemon juice and sugar. (Lemon juice? I know!)
3. Fill the cups with the coffee and the two liquors.
4. Float some whipped cream on top, sprinkle with some grated dark chocolate and serve.
This drink has a great blend of the sweet (sugar, Kahlua, whipped cream), the bitter (the coffee itself and the dark chocolate), and the nice citrus of the lemon juiced rim.
It may be a tad more complex than other coffee drinks where you merely add one ingredient, but it is so worth it.
